A New Approach to Knock - Knee Channel RoutingDorothea
نویسنده
چکیده
We present a new channel routing algorithm in the knock-knee mode that produces for dense problems area-optimal layouts with minimum total wire length and O(n) bends (n number of nets), where the total number of bends is at most d ? 2 (d density) more than the minimum. The running time is O(n). It thus improves the algorithm in 3] that determines area-optimal layouts with minimum total wire length in O(n 2) time, where the number of bends is (n 2). Moreover, this is the rst area-optimal layout algorithm with linear running time. The approach we use is completely diierent from all previously known algorithms. It is based on the notion of cycle graphs introduced in this paper.

On the Complexity of Knock-knee Channel-Routing with 3-Terminal Nets
In this paper we consider a basic problem in the layout of VLSI-circuits, the channel-routing problem in the knock-knee mode. We show that knock-knee channel routing with 3-terminal nets is NP-complete and thereby settling a problem that was open for more than a decade. In 1987, Sarrafzadeh showed that knock-knee channel routing with 5-terminal nets is NP-complete (Sarrafzadeh, 1987). Furthermo...
متن کاملImproved Knock Detection Method Based on New Time-Frequency Analysis In Spark Ignition Turbocharged Engine
Premature combustion that affects outputs, thermal efficiencies and lifetimes of internal combustion engine is called “knock effect”. However knock signal detection based on acoustic sensor is a challenging task due to existing of noise in the same frequency spectrum. Experimental results revealed that vibration signals, generated from knock, has certain frequencies related to vibration resonan...
متن کاملA new approach for achieving excellent strain homogeneity in tubular channel angular pressing (TCAP) process
Tubular channel angular pressing (TCAP) is a recently invented novel severe plastic deformation technique for producing UFG tubes. Plastic deformation analysis using the finite element method (FEM) was carried out to investigate the effects of trapezoidal channel geometry on strain inhomogeneity index (SII), strain level and required load compared to previously used channel geometries. The resu...
متن کاملRate of Pressure Rise in SI Engine Cylinder and its Relation to Knock (RESEARCH NOTE)
Tremendous efforts have been devoted to study the complex phenomenon "knock in spark ignition engines. There is an increasing interest in providing some tools to study knock in simulated data. In the previous studies, engine cylinder pressure oscillation has been used to investigate knock. Unless those methods involved highly complex non-detailed chemical relations, the previous studies were de...
متن کاملA new approach for fabrication of bulk MMCs using Accumulative Channel-die Compression Bonding (ACCB)
A new severe plastic deformation (SPD) based technique entitled Accumulative channel-die compression bonding (ACCB) is proposed for the fabrication of high strength multi-layered Al/Cu composites for the first time. In order to primarily demonstrate the capabilities of ACCB in the fabrication of metal matrix composites (MMCs), AA 1050 and pure Cu strips were processed. The primary Al/Cu sandwic...
